The Literacy Council of Kitsap will offer a five-week class in Microsoft Word, beginning Sept. 8. Classes will run 10-11:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays. The class site is a private computer lab in Poulsbo. Mastery of basic computer skills is prerequisite for enrollment. North Kitsap resident Sam McKeel is the instructor.
To enroll, call Olga Fedorovski at the Councils Bremerton office, (360) 373-1539, no later than Wednesday, Sept. 3. There is a $25 registration fee and a $5 fee for materials.
The Literacy Council provides free tutoring to adults in reading, writing, math, English as a Second Language and GED preparation, both one-on-one and in small-group settings. Computers are available at the councils Bremerton and Poulsbo offices for students to practice their skills.
The Poulsbo office is on the upper level of the Marine Science Center,18743 Front St. It is staffed 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and can be reached during those hours at (360} 598-5950. The Bremerton office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays. For more information, visit the Web site at www.literacykitsap.org. |
