Kingston Collision and Glass
awarded EnviroStars honor

Kingston Collision & Glass, located at 6107 NE Minder Rd., has been certified at the 4-star level for protecting the environment and properly managing wastes by the EnviroStars Program.

Owner Tim Piecuch took an environmentally proactive approach in setting up his automotive service business. He contacted state and local agencies to make sure all the necessary environmental protections were in place before providing service to customers. Some of the pollution prevention measures used at the shop include: high volume low pressure spray equipment, an enclosed container system used for cleaning spray equipment, secondary containers to store hazardous waste, and a computerized paint mixing system.

The shop also cleans and prepares the surfaces of vehicles with a low volatile organic cleaner that is safe for the environment. In addition to properly managing hazardous waste, the shop also has an extensive recycling program. This includes recycling batteries, scrap metal, bumpers, covers, paper, and cardboard.
