Virginia Anderson, C.P.A., Cathy Davidson Ed.D, William White III and John Hight will be installed as members of the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at the Accolades Awards Gala on Sept. 20. The event will be held at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club.
Current board members, Nancy Whitaker, Dr. Karen Busso and Mark Keel will step down. Shirley Casteel left the board earlier this year after taking a new position with American Marine Bank, Home Mortgage division.
Anderson has been a chamber member since 2000. She works at Parker, Mooers and Cena and is on the board of directors for the Central Kitsap Kiwanis and has participated in the chambers Hello Day, the shadow program and the auction. She and her husband have also been host parents for a Rotary student and are active in scouting groups in the community.
Davidson has been a member since 1998 and has been the Central Kitsap School Districts superintendent since July 1999. She oversees the districts administration, including a $96 million budget, 13,100 students in 23 schools, and 1,600 employees.
Recently appointed by Kitsap County Commissioners to the Base Realignment and Closure Committee (BRACC), Davidson also serves as facilitator of the Superintendents Advisory Council for Olympic ESD and as a member of the Rotary Club of Silverdale, CK Citizens for Quality Education, Superintendents Administrative Council for West Sound Tech, the Board of Directors of United Way, and the Paul Linder Educational Foundation.
Hight, who joined the chamber as an individual this year, is co-owner, with his wife Maggie of Brewton-Hight Insurance Agency. He has 26 years in the insurance Industry, with 18 of those in Silverdale. He served on the board and as president of The Olympic Peninsula Association of The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Under the Brewton-Hight membership Hight has served as chair for the chambers member services committee. He participated in and was a sponsor of Summer Splendor Garden Tour and was a sponsor of Kids Day.
White has been a chamber member since 1996 and joined Wal-Mart in 1992 as an assistant manager, becoming store manager in 2002.
He represented the United States on three Track and Field teams and an Olympic team in 1988 as brakeman on the USA1 bobsled team. He has been active in the Big Brother program and was a Board member for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. White also served 10 years as an officer in the Air Force and is currently a Major in the Air Force Reserves. |
