A new 104 room hotel, the Oxford Inn, is slated to be built on property facing Bayshore Drive, adjacent to the Dyes Inlet waterfront. A building and the other necessary permits have been filed to move the project forward.

The property was purchased by the Oregon-based Baney Corporation which owns and operates 12 hotels around the Northwest under the name Oxford Inn and Oxford Suites.

The acre and a half site was sold to the firm by Shore Drive Associates, whose principal partners are Realtor Jerry Reid of Reid Realty, who has an office directly behind the site, Bremerton attorney John Bishop, and the Verhelst family.

Patrick “Red” Boyle of the commercial division of Reid Realty handled the transaction.

The hotel is expected to open in time for next summer’s tourist trade.
