The ubiquitous Niels G. Nielsen, past president of Port Orchard Rotary Club and never one to miss a photo opportunity, recently attended the 98th annual Rotary International convention, which was held in Brisbane, Australia.

Here he is photographed with Jonathan B. Majiyagbe from the Rotary Club of Kano, Kano State, Nigeria, was elected by the 1.2 million membership as the President of Rotary International beginning July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004.

This is the first Rotarian from the African Continent to be elected as the worldwide organization’s leader.
