N.W. Water Systems buys
Arcadia Drilling contracts
By Dan Moore

For several years Northwest Water System, Inc. has been working closely with the management division of Arcadia Drilling by providing it with quality engineering design and consulting services. By purchasing the 96 contracts managed by Arcadia, Northwest Water now manages 252 water systems.

The two companies will maintain a strong relationship since Arcadia will continue offering well drilling and pump repair services. Northwest Water now offers management services in Kitsap, Mason, Thurston, Pierce, and Grays Harbor counties and design services throughout western Washington.

Quality of service and finding the best solutions for their customers is the primary concern at Northwest Water since they do not own any of the systems they manage. When someone outside the system or a government agency owns a water system, they often make decisions based on their own interests rather than the interests of their customers.

Northwest Water operates under the philosophy that communities and individuals who retain ownership of their water systems are able to maintain control over the quality of their water as well as make decisions as to how challenges should be met when they arise. They also believe in working closely with the professionals who build, repair and maintain systems designed and/or managed by Northwest Water.

“We encourage our customers to maintain their loyalty to the companies with which they have been associated,” explains Reg Hearn, president of Northwest Water. In Kitsap County, however, they work closely with Nicholson Drilling in the south and Duckworth Pump and Well Drilling in the north. Northwest Water Systems also has a close working relationship with Twiss Analytical Laboratories, the only state-certified testing facility in the West Puget Sound region.

In an age when regulations become more numerous and complicated each year, Northwest Water specializes in helping individuals and communities understand what needs to be done and help them choose the most cost effective methods to meet they goals.
