announces new officers

At its recent annual meeting, the Harrison Hospital board of directors elected new officers and two new members; three board members were re-elected.

A member of the hospital’s board since 1994, Ron Muhleman was re-elected chair for a one-year term. A Bremerton native — born at Harrison — Muhleman has spent 30 years at The Sun and serves as the newspaper’s director of business development.

Carl Cramer, president of Farrell’s Home Health and a member of the board since 1995, was re-elected vice chairman.

Re-elected to the role of secretary/treasurer was David Tinker, MD. A local cardiologist, Dr. Tinker has served on the hospital board since 1996 and also as chief of medical staff.

Newly elected to the board for three-year terms are David Veterane and Bradley Gleeson.

Veterane, from Bainbridge Island, recently retired as a founding principal of the Seattle-based Rainier Investment Management, Inc. Gleeson, who makes his home in Seabeck, is president of Active Light, Inc., located in Poulsbo. Gleeson also serves on the board of the Harrison Hospital Foundation.

Three board members were re-elected for additional three-year terms: Kathleen McCluskey. director of administrative services for the city of Bremerton; retired banker Marshall Miller, III; and Muhleman.

Retiring after 24 years on the board, Kathi Smith was elected director emeritus; she will remain on the board of the Harrison Hospital Foundation. Smith was recognized for her years of service to Harrison as well as her contribution to healthcare via leadership roles with the Washington State Hospital Association and the American Hospital Association.
