More than 50 applications received
for KREDC job

The Kitsap Regional Economic Development Council (KREDC) has received more than 50 applications from candidates in 13 states for the Executive Director position being vacated by Zoltan Szigethy. The deadline for applications was May 23. The search committee, which is comprised of Linda Niebanck, Tim Arnold, Lary Coppola, Jim Robinson and Pete Crane, along with Szigethy, is in the process of narrowing down the applicants so the interview process can begin.

Applicants were required to submit a cover letter, chronological history, a functional resume outlining their expertise and experience in ten essential skills, along with their compensation expectations. Although somewhat unusual from what is normally required to apply for such a position, the ability to comply with the process itself is viewed as a test of the seriousness of the applicants by setting a much higher standard than commonly used.

The committee’s choice is expected to be announced by mid-July or sooner.
