Westech Aerosol Corporation, a Port Orchard adhesives manufacturer donated a selection of spray glue and solvent to Lindenhurst High School in Lindenhurst, NY.

Westech manufactures and sells high quality, environmentally safe adhesives for a variety of materials. Lindenhurst High School offers a technology program that gives students the opportunity to work on model projects of various types. This is the sort of class that allows teenagers to be creative, while learning the intricacies of model building.

Lindenhurst High School is recognized for its comprehensive and diverse curricula. Unfortunately, its budget has been cut significantly and the dedicated teachers of Lindenhurst have taken it upon themselves to ask companies to donate supplies for the upcoming quarter.

Neil Lederer, the Lindenhurst Schools Superintendent, had discussed the district’s financial needs with state legislators. According to Lederer, it appears unlikely that any of the proposed $3.5 million reduction in state aid to Lindenhurst will be restored; at least not before residents vote on the school budget. Therefore, the District and Board of Education have been forced to develop a budget based on the governor’s proposed state aid cuts.
