Boxlight: Now old enough to vote

April marked the 18th year in business for Boxlight. That milestone makes the company the oldest projector company in existence today. As many successful enterprises do, Boxlight started small. Herb Myers and the late Sloan Myers originally founded Boxlight in the basement of their San Francisco Bay home. In 1989 the company moved to Poulsbo.

“Boxlight has grown from two phone lines to an award-winning brand that has become synonymous with excellence in presenting,” Myers said. “This company has been built one relationship at a time with the dedicated help of all of Boxlight’s people and uncompromising commitment to our customers complete satisfaction.”

The company’s customers range from business professionals and government agencies to healthcare professionals and educators.

Explosive growth required the company to relocate again. In 1996, the company moved into its present worldwide headquarters in Poulsbo on a high hilltop overlooking the regal Olympic Mountains.

In December 2002, Boxlight Latinoamerica was formed with the goal of meeting the growing demand for presentation products in the Latin America marketplace.

A small part of the celebration is the introduction of two smaller projectors, the SP-46d and the XP-56d: “The SP-46d and the XP-56d are Boxlight’s answer to the small office home office (SOHO) business owners and traveling presenters desiring presentation equipment to succeed in the marketplace, all at a value price,” said Jill Miller, executive vice-president of worldwide sales and marketing. “These projectors will open up the door to those organizations who could not previously afford a projector and for those organizations who need to purchase multiple units.”

Picture-in-picture and zoom capabilities are among the highlights of the new projectors.
