Silverdale trail center open for the season

The Clear Creek/Saq’ad Interpretive Center, part of the Clear Creek Trail Project in Silverdale, is open the first Saturday of each month from noon to 4 p.m. and, beginning in May, the first and third Saturday of each month.

The interpretive center is developing environmental, historical and native cultural displays and exhibits. On April 5 the interpretive center will also feature a special historical presentation and display on early Clear Creek valley schools. Visitors will have an opportunity to hear and visualize the school setting much as it was at the former Clear Creek School. On May 3 and 17 there will be special displays and presentations on environmentally friendly gardening.

Each Saturday the interpretive center is open, guided interpretive trail walks are scheduled. Entry to the interpretive center is by donation. Call Coreen Johnson at (360) 895-1708 for more information. The center is located in the ‘red barn’ at Bucklin Hill Road and Levin Road in Silverdale.
