Industrial Pump Sales Company Inc. has relocated from Seattle to Kitsap County. The Kitsap Regional Economic Development Council (KREDC) was instrumental in assisting the company with the custom-built facilities for its sales, service and repair business it needed in order to make the move.

Industrial Pump Sales is a family-owned and run company established in 1967 and operated from Seattle until its move in late February. Jeff S. Helm serves as company president.

The firm provides pumps, parts, accessories, mounting, service, and repair of pumps from major distributors such as Barnes, Berkeley, Scot Pump, Moyno, Little Giant and others and serves industrial, municipal and commercial customers in the Northwestern United States.

Industrial Pump Sales’ new location is at the Twelve Trees Business Park in Poulsbo. The built-to-suit 6,657 sq. ft. warehouse and service/sales facility meets the company’s requirements for current and future needs according to Helm.

“Our new facility provides us an opportunity for a stable and healthy future,” he said. “ We look forward to operating our business in Kitsap County.”

The company is looking to utilize local firms whenever possible for outsourcing needs, such as accounting services or suppliers of steel bases, bearings and couplings. It currently has three employees at the Poulsbo location, with two in Vancouver, Washington. Plans include hiring additional sales and support staff in the coming weeks.

Mark Salo, owner of Twelve Trees Business Park, acknowledged the project received great service from the Kitsap County Department of Community Development, Bremerton Kitsap County Health District, Kitsap County Building Department and Kitsap County Fire Marshals Office.

“Industrial Pump Sales’ decision to move to Twelve Trees Business Park (and Kitsap County) was predicated on our ability to produce a custom designed building in less than seven months start to finish,” he noted. ”If any of the governing agencies had not processed the permits in a timely manner we could not have met the time constraints of this project.”
