Three new faces guiding the Bremerton Ice Arena into reality have worked their entire lives on the ice.
Michael Buckley is director of the Bremerton Amateur Hockey Association. Buckley has played and coached hockey for more than 30 years, and has been involved with the Seattle Junior Hockey Association as a youth hockey organizer for six years.
Soon to relocate to Kitsap County, the Buffalo, New York native will be organizing all youth hockey leagues and programs for Bremerton Ice Arena.
Jon Magers is director of the Bremerton Adult Hockey League. Magers has been a Kitsap County resident for 20 years and has organized adult hockey programs in Tacoma for eight years. He plans beginner programs, as well as developing top-caliber adult hockey at the Bremerton Ice Arena.
Cheri Wright is now the arenas skating director. A California native, Wright has lived in Bremerton since 1996. A former figure skater and coach, she will develop all skating programs for the arena, including a nationally recognized Learn-To-Skate program for novices. Wright will work closely with neighboring facilities, such as the Seattle Skating Club and Sprinker Ice Center in Tacoma. |
