Junkoh and Chris Harui, owners of Bainbridge Gardens and the former Town and Country Florist and Nursery, celebrated their 45th anniversary of business on Bainbridge Island.

A year of celebration and special events kicked off with a Feb. 15 birthday party.

“With the history of pre-war Bainbridge Gardens, our family’s involvement in a retail plant nursery on Bainbridge Island is around 90 years,” said Junkoh Harui. “I am truly grateful for the community’s support of my endeavors. Our customers supported me when I was a young businessman starting out and our customers energized me when I faced the task of turning this abandoned, run-down site into the Bainbridge Gardens of today.”

Now a seven-acre nursery, Bainbridge Gardens continues to grow and look toward the future, leading other garden centers in teaching consumers natural and organic methods of caring for their gardens.

Bainbridge Gardens are located ate 9415 Miller Road NE on Bainbridge Island.
