Proctor Museum achievement award

Save Outdoor Sculpture!, a national project to preserve our nation’s public sculpture awarded the A. Phimister Proctor Museum of Poulsbo an honorable mention SOS! Achievement Award.

The museum was awarded the $500 honorable mention prize for its efforts to preserve Alexander Proctor’s monumental statues and architectural pieces nationwide.

The success of the project was due to thorough research by the sculptor’s grandson and museum director Sandy Church. Church also collaborates with local organizations and citizens to make each conservation project a community effort.

The 2002 SOS! Achievement Awards recognize projects that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in preservation and public awareness.
