County completes final data merger

The Kitsap County Administrative Services Department has migrated information between data systems to achieve uniformity among the offices that work with real estate and property files. The merging of the information sets the final steps in motion to eliminate computer system duplication and reap the full benefit of the County’s new Land Information System. The county treasurer, assessor, and the Department of Community Development expect that sharing information will lead to greater efficiency and accuracy.

Prior to the data merger, which disrupted computer transactions with the county, there was minimal worry. “We will do what we need to do to minimize the impacts on our customers,” said Jim Avery, county assessor. “We anticipate this to be a minor disruption for them, in exchange for a vast improvement in our collective service.”

The Land Information System is a proprietary system developed with help from Paladin Data Systems of Poulsbo.
