Burnett creates second salmon sculpture

The Lower Theler Wetland Center in Belfair commissioned Amy Burnett to design and paint imagery on an eight-foot fiberglass silver salmon sculpture to be on permanent display. Burnett previously created a separate eight-foot salmon sculpture that was auctioned off at Seattle’s Pier 66 to benefit the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group.

The sculpture, titled “Journey of Neptune’s Daughter,” is also being considered for center stage above the entry pond of the future Northwest Salmon Learning Center.

The sculpture will be on view at the Amy Burnett Gallery in downtown Bremerton until Jan. 14. Then it will be delivered to the Theler Wetlands. Trail hours for the wetlands are dawn to dusk, seven days a week.
