The Bremerton Area Chamber of Commerce has created what can only be called a unique calendar to raise funds for Chamber programs.

“Leading Ladies of Bremerton and Kitsap County” is a 2003 calendar that features twelve local women who have made a positive impact on the community through their work and community involvement.

Black and white photography was utilized to portray the women in 1930’s and 1940’s glamorous clothing and settings. The following women appear in the calendar:

• January – Joan Soriano, community volunteer
• February – Bonnie McDade, owner of Communique, Inc.
• March – Elizabeth Gilje, President of KPS Health Plans
• April – Wanda Moore, Manager of Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union
• May – Dee Kinder, owner of The Basket Lady
• June – Linda Joyce, Executive Director of the YWCA of Kitsap County
• July – Stacy Doré, Communications Manager of Boxlight Corporation
• August – Silvia Klatman, Executive Director of the Bremerton Chamber
• September – Carole Dawson, President of Bremerton Bottling Co., Inc.
• October – Stacey Tucker, President of Chico Towing
• November – Gussie Schaeffer, Marketing Manager of The Sun
• December – Mary Anne Mascianica, community volunteer

   Clothing and accessories were donated by Pacific Northwest Costumes; hair was styled by Cap and Company; make-up was done by Julia Stroud and photography was provided by Hudson Photographic Artistry.

The calendars are $22, including sales tax, and are available at The Basket Lady, the Chamber office and at Chamber functions.
