Bremerton native receives
coveted Yoga Alliance designation

Bremerton’s Cynthia Land recently received her official designation of Registered Yoga Teacher. The designation is granted by the Yoga Alliance, a national organization that maintains a registry to help the public choose yoga teachers with high levels of knowledge and expertise. According to U.S. News and World Report some 18 million Americans practice yoga and the organization grew from the exploding demand for yoga teacher’s nationwide.

Land, who grew up in Bremerton, recently returned after a more than ten-year stop in Seattle. Land worked here for KITZ Radio as a reporter and went on to work for KOMO Radio in Seattle, becoming an award winning anchor and reporter. Her career then shifted to public relations for the booming technology industry before transitioning to her current life as a yoga teacher

Land holds a teaching certificate from the Prana Yoga Centre of Vancouver, B.C. and teaches a flowing style of Hatha Yoga that gently moves students from one pose to a next, incorporating breath and careful alignment of the body. Classes are designed to fit the needs of students.

She teaches classes at Body reForm and Silverdale Fitness in Silverdale, as well as the Bremerton Tennis Athletic Club. Other clients include Group Health and Seabeck Elementary. She is also available for private lessons.
