“Tuscan 25,” handcolored B&W photo by Dinah Satterwhite

The Playhouse Gallery presents a special fine art photography exhibit featuring the work of Bainbridge Island photographer Dinah Satterwhite.

Satterwhite is known for her vividly handcolored black and white photographs of the Pacific Northwest, focusing mostly on scenics and florals. The November exhibit at The Playhouse will feature the release of a new series of handcolored images themed around Tuscany. Using special oil paints, she has embellished black and white photos in great detail to give an intimate look at some classic doors and windows through a new light.

Her latest exhibit is titled “Doors and Windows of Tuscany.” It’s a new series of framed black & white and infrared miniature photographs will also be on display, along with some original Polaroid emulsion transfers on watercolor paper, glass, and layered in a unique collage-type effect.
