Kitsap County holds its 12th annual Human Rights Conference on Dec. 4 at the WestCoast Silverdale Hotel.

Speakers at the all day event are Dr. Terry Tafoya, a renowned speaker on diversity issues in the U.S. and Europe; Washington Supreme Court Justice Thomas Chambers; Dr. Brian Goldberg of Anti-defamation League and more.

Cost for the event is $55 and $45 for all students. Pre-registration is required.

The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners formed the Kitsap County Council for Human Rights in 1989 following a cross-burning incident. The council’s vision is that Kitsap County be a caring, supportive, and safe community that values each individual, celebrates individual differences, and recognizes the importance of each person’s contribution to the community.
