The Northwest College of Art presents, The New York Society of Illustrators 20022003 Annual Traveling Exhibit from Nov. 14 through Dec. 20.
The not-to-be-missed show features illustrators Gary Baseman of Cranium fame; Jack Unruh whose work can often be seen in National Geographic; C.F. Payne, famous for his celebrity portraits in magazines such as Time and Rolling Stone; and Mark Summers, best known for beautiful scratchboard illustrations of authors on Barnes and Noble bags.
The Society of Illustrators is a prestigious group of illustrators founded in New York in 1901. Each year the Society of Illustrators accepts submissions from across the United States, selecting the strongest illustration work to be a part of their annual show. Americas premier illustrators are represented in the Annual Traveling Exhibit.
The reception for the Society of Illustrators show is Friday, Nov. 22, from 6 p.m. to 9p.m. Illustrator Anita Kunz will flying in from New York for this event. Anita Kunz has produced cover art for many magazines, including Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Sports Illustrated, Time magazine, Newsweek, the Atlantic Monthly and New York Times Magazine. She has also illustrated more than fifty book jacket covers.
