Shriners Screening Clinic - Pass it along

The Shriner’s Hospital Screening Clinic will once again screen potential patients.

The screening clinic, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 9 is again hosted by Harrison Memorial Hospital on Cherry Avenue in Bremerton. Children accepted for treatment are sent to the Shriner’s Hospital in Portland, Ore. for further evaluation and treatment.

Shriner’s will pay for transportation and lodging for the child and one adult parent or legal guardian, for as long as the child needs treatment and remains eligible.
The twenty-two Shriner’s Hospitals treat burns, Orthopaedic problems associated with cerebral palsy, and conditions such as Spina Bifida, Scoliosis, Muscular Dystrophy, club feet, cleft palate, short or missing limbs, head injuries, rickets, and injuries to bones, muscles, and tendons.

If you know of a child who has any of these conditions or other muscular or skeletal injuries or disease, let their parents or guardians know about the Shiner’s Hospitals and the screening clinic.
