Bremerton Mayor Cary Bozeman issued a proclamation that the months of September and October 2002 are Bremerton Symphony Orchestra months.

The 2002-2003 Season of the Bremerton Symphony marks the 60th Anniversary of the community orchestra, which presented its first concert at the Civic Recreation Center on October 11, 1942. The opening concert of the 2002-2003 Season is Oct. 5, and includes the music of Dvorak, Mahler and Beethoven.

The Bremerton Symphony Association and the Kitsap County Historical Society Museum have created a commemorative exhibit at 280 Fourth Street, Bremerton. The display of memorabilia will be open to the public at the Museum for the remainder of the year.
