Local firms continue to return to KPS

KPS Health Plans recently re-enrolled five more of its former Kitsap clients.

When KPS went into receivership for rehabilitation, some local companies sought out alternative health care options because they were unsure whether KPS would survive the receivership process.

However, KPS continues its strong recovery from its financial troubles of the late 1990’s with revenues in the black for the past two years and growing. Claims are being paid as fast as any time in the company’s history and claims inventory at the lowest it has ever been. The company’s enrollment is nearly 44,000 and continues to grow.

KPS Health Plans re-enrolled a total of 985 Kitsap County members in 2002 including Kitsap Mental Health Services, Suquamish Clearwater Casino, Haselwood Auto Group, Kitsap Community Resources and Ridgemont Terrace

“KPS worked diligently to bring these companies exactly the type of health care options they wanted. We are thrilled that they have decided to come back to KPS,” says Elizabeth Gilje, President of KPS Health Plans.

KPS Health Plans provides coverage for small and large businesses, individuals and families, Medicare supplements, and federal employees, as well as several school districts in its seven-county service area of Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, Clallam, Thurston, Pierce and Grays Harbor. In addition, the company provides coverage to federal employees and groups with more than 50 employees in King county, and offers a trust product and MSA plans statewide.
