Solia Hermes: Looking Inside Out featured at BAC

A striking contrast of materials and the use of movement, shapes, repetitive forms, and tactility will all collide at Bainbridge Arts and Crafts in September to create a very individual Solia Hermes “room.” Furniture, rugs, and sculpture by the artist will transform BAC’s gallery into “a whole living environment” certain to be both sophisticated and whimsical.

Hermes work is about the play between hard and soft, warm and cold, and perception and reality. “This show will explore the notion of seeing our world in a different light or dimension without losing the relationship between physical and mental world,” said the artist describing her work for the exhibition that will run from September 7 to 29. The title of the show, “Looking Inside Out,” explores the relationship between “inside our minds” and “our outside environment.”.
