Ten West Sound employees received the Professional Finance Officer award for 2002 from the Washington Finance Officer’s Association. The annual award requires ongoing educational and professional excellence.

The Washington Finance Officer’s Association is a professional association of finance officers from towns, cities, counties, the state and other governmental units with the state.

Those receiving the award are: Paulette Alvarado, accounting manager, city of Poulsbo; Donna Bjorkman, finance director, city of Poulsbo; Deborah Booher, accounting assistant, city of Poulsbo; Jana Brown, payroll accounting assistance, city of Poulsbo; Nani L. Lien, budget analyst, city of Poulsbo; Theresa Whitbeck, accounting technician, city of Poulsbo; Kathleen McKnight, finance systems administrator, city of Bainbridge Island; Lillian Shierk, senior accountant, Kitsap County; Melinda Vonarb, chief deputy treasurer, Kitsap County; and John Zampardo, accountant 1, Kitsap County.
