Jeff Brody, 48, has been named managing editor at The Sun. The position is the second highest in the newsroom.
Brody, a 14 year veteran of the local daily paper, has served as local news editor, assistant city editor, features editor and opinion editor, as well as coordinating local coverage of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He also led a restructuring of the reporting staff so it could focus on the papers local news priorities. In addition, he led a reporting team that covered the economy, transportation, the environment, the military, and education, as well as coordinating the series, Hood Canal: Splendor at Risk, which he edited into a book published by The Sun.
Brody, who earned a journalism degree from the University of Illinois and a masters in economics from the University of Illinois-Springfield, arrived in Bremerton in 1988 after 13 years in Springfield, where he handled coverage of state government and politics. |
