A corporate planner’s delight
By Marie Buckner

Your business has travel needs and you want to get the best deal possible. Where do you turn and what can you expect? Look no further than Doug Fox Travel, located in Bremerton.

Doug Fox Travel has been around for 55 years and in Bremerton for about 30 of those. With 14 offices located throughout the Puget Sound area, the office located on the Bremerton waterfront is the only branch in our area. It is a full service travel agency, which means they handle airline tickets, specialty tours, packages, cruises, and group activities. They can even arrange for a limousine service and shuttle accommodations to SeaTac, if needed. In other words, all the client needs to do is have an idea of what they want and where they want to go. The details are all handled by the agency.

In order to provide the best customer care, various steps are followed to assure total convenience for the client. Initially, the agent will find out about the type of business the client firm is involved in, then what markets are usually traveled to, and what hotel is currently being used – along with any other current services and amenities. Depending on the volume involved, hours of availability and client’s needs, and areas of specialty – a specific agent will be assigned to the client.

Of special interest to the corporate planner is the fact that Doug Fox handles corporate reporting. This is a blessing for any firm’s accounting or bookkeeping department. Automatically included in a corporate planning package, or purchased separately on a fee basis, this feature provides proper record keeping and analysis of company travel expenses and potential savings.

For instance, depending on the size and requirements of the company, breakdowns of expenses per employee are available as are reports reflecting potential savings involved in choosing one alternative over another (i.e. Saturday night travel savings). This is but a short synopsis of the intricacies of such reports available.

The branch, located at 102 Pacific Ave. in Bremerton, is currently searching for a new location due to the oncoming waterfront renovation. It is hoping to provide, amongst other features, better parking for clients – all the while being easily accessible to the community. There currently are no definite dates involved in any move.

With the popularity of online reservations and phone reservations, the “personal touch” has disappeared. It is a welcome relief to enter a full service travel agency, such as Doug Fox Travel, and leave all the details to another while knowing your needs are being met to the fullest extent possible.
