Poulsbo-based Seattle Systems recently announced the appointment of Christopher Welch as its new director of sales. In the newly created post, Welch will lead the salesforce and develop strategies for expanding company global business initiatives. He will be taking on many of the responsibilities that were previously handled by Director of Marketing David Adams. Adams, who has been with the company for seven years, will focus on marketing and business development.
Welch joins the company from Johnson & Johnson Incorporated where he was the executive director of sales and marketing. Prior to that, he worked for Edwards Lifesciences and Baxter Healthcare in numerous sales functions. While at Baxter, Welch held the titles of sales trainer, region manager, account executive, director of national accounts and vice president.
He and his wife Rhonda will be moving to the Poulsbo area later this year from their home in Tustin, Calif.
In other personnel news at Seattle Systems, the company also announced that it has hired over 50 new employees since the beginning of this year.
Returning to the company is Meg Hall, prosthetic product manager Previously with the company for five years, Hall is experienced in prosthetic sales, customer service and product management. Hall will ensure that Seattle Systems prosthetic products meet the amputees needs for quality, price and comfort.
Also new to the marketing department is Tami Jayne Jackson, media communications specialist. Jackson will be responsible for writing and circulating both internal and external communication pieces and is the contact person for all media relations. A freelance writer for more than fifteen years and news correspondent for ten years, Jackson has also worked as a specialist and/or director in public relations since 1993. |
