Sidney Museum calls for entries

The Sidney Museum & Arts Association will be holding its 32nd annual “Helen Norris Open Art Show,” May 5 through 30. Judging the show is award winning Poulsbo artist Phyllis Oliver, who has exhibited and taught for over twenty years throughout the Northwest.

A reception with the judge’s critique will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday May 5 from 1 – 4 p.m. Registration dates for this art competition are Wednesday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday, May 2, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A maximum of 2 pieces of artwork are allowed with a $5 entry fee per piece. All artwork must be suitably framed and wired for hanging and must be for sale.

The 4 categories are oils/acrylic, watercolors, drawing (includes pastels, pen & ink, charcoal, pencils, and scratchboard), and mixed media (batiks, prints, photography, collage and sculpture). In each category a prize for first ($100), second ($50) and third ($25) place will be awarded, as well as Honorable Mention ribbons. At the end of the show will be an overall People’s Choice award ($25 gift certificate).
