Gov. Gary Locke recently signed EHB 2623, sponsored by Rep. Bill Grant (D-Walla Walla), which increases the threshold under which a shoreline development permit is not required from $2,500 to $5,000. The Governor also signed SB 5832. Sponsored by Senator Mary Margaret Haugen (D-Camano Island). This bill allows counties planning under the GMA with approved comprehensive plans to increase short plats to nine lots within urban growth areas.
