The Amy Burnett Galley will showcase the first solo exhibition of Edward P. Matlock on May 3 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Matlock’s paintings span a range of topics and styles. His large-scale comics are fun to be in front of, teasing the viewer with just enough story line to put the pages in sequence. His most recent work, in oils, deals with iconic images in juxtaposition to their normal setting and treatment. The mix of imagery allows the viewer to explore the definition as well as the institution it stands for. The work will be on display through May 17.
