YWCA announces 2002 Women of Achievement Award recipients

Nominated in early March, out of a field of more than 80 incredibly accomplished peers, 16 Kitsap County women were honored as YWCA Women of Achievement at the YWCA Thirteenth Anniversary Woman of Achievement Luncheon on April 23.

“As an organization which encourages the development and empowerment of women, we are honored to present these sixteen woman for they exemplify all that is great about our community,” said Linda K. Joyce, Executive Director of the YWCA of Kitsap County. The 2002 Women of Achievement are:

  • Lawan Morrison, Owner and Director, Bremerton Dance Center
  • Karen Flynn, Kitsap County Auditor
  • Jennifer McGregor Stowell, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
  • Natalie Bryson, Community Activist/Volunteer
  • Megan LaFerriere, Senior, South Kitsap High School
  • Debbie Brockman, Legal Advocate, YWCA of Kitsap County
  • Charlotte Garrido, Consultant, Kitsap Connections
  • Peggy Tillery, Horticulture Coordinator, Washington State University Master Gardener Program
  • Mary Anne Guerrero, Director, God’s Kitchen/Family of God Lutheran Church
  • Crisma Biggs, Senior, Bainbridge Island High School
  • Susan Rankin, Director of Emergency Services, Harrison Hospital
  • Nancy Leigh, Social Worker, Department of Social and Health Services
  • Carolyn McClurkan, President, Kitsap County Historical Society
