Poulsbo’s Twiss Analytical Laboratories recently announced that 2001 sales increased by 11.5 percent over 2000, marking the company’s eleventh consecutive year of record sales. The 2001 sales numbers reflect reaching 99.2 percent of projected sales for the year according to company President Steve Twiss.

During 2001, the firm acquired many new clients, including several large water districts and federal contractors. The firm also purchased new instrumentation to expand its laboratory capability and can now determine the presence and concentration of multiple metals in a sample at one time and can process metals analysis in 3 days or less.

Twiss is the only private certified analytical laboratory in West Sound that is certified by the Department of Health and accredited by the Department of Ecology. The company focuses on testing drinking water and environmental samples for chemical and bacterial contaminants.
