This month the Sidney Art Gallery in Port Orchard will host a fine art exhibition titled Images 2002, a collection of works by Port Orchard artist Jean Freeburg. A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Freeburg lived four years in Tokyo then five in Seattle. She presently resides with her husband south of Port Orchard.
Freeburg studied art in Japan, at the University of Washington, and at Olympic College, principally under Ladeane Tate. She has traveled extensively in the USA, Mexico, Europe, and Asia, and is a licensed pilot. Her work, which includes acrylic painting, printmaking, collage, and hand made paper, displays considerable Oriental influence.
There will be an artists reception on Sunday April 7 from 1 to 4 p.m., and the show will exhibit April 3 through 25.
The Sidney Gallery is located at 202 Sidney Ave., or visit www.sidneymuseumandarts.com. |
