Her fellow commissioners may not think she has enough experience to chair a board, but members of the Olympic Consortium obviously think otherwise. Kitsap County Commissioner Jan Angel was elected to chair the 2002 Olympic Consortium Board on February 15.

The Olympic Consortium consists of Clallam, Jefferson and Kitsap County officials who work to provide job training and employment opportunities for area residents. Recent projects include employee recruitment for Nextel and retraining for the Port Townsend Paper Company.

Filling out the slate of officers is first vice chair Dan Titterness, Jefferson County Commissioner, and Mike Doherty, Clallam County Commissioner. Bert Furuta, Kitsap County Director of Personnel and Human Services, is the director of the consortium.
