Higher Source under new ownership

The Higher Source, a Bainbridge Island-based regional guide to the healing arts as well as alternative and homeopathic healthy lifestyle choices, is under new ownership.

As of January 22, Jai Deardorff, owner of Earthdance Press in Port Townsend, became the new editor and publisher. She purchased the publication from founding publisher Suzanne Gardner. Gardner sold it to pursue her budding career as an artist.

Deardorff’s experience includes a long background in both the healing arts and as a published writer.

“We’re excited to expand the publication and make it more accessable and encompassing of the many ways that people with spirit can use it in their lives,” said Deardorff. “We want to continue Suzanne’s efforts of using personal stories and and being a guide to the healing arts.”

Deardorff added, “We intend to expand into other formats, such as educational articles and themed essays.”

She also says a new emphasis will be put on creativity such as poetry and artwork. “I want this to become more of a community journal, using local writers. We want it to become kind of an interactive voice for the community.”

The publication can still be reached online at www.thehighersource.com. Deardorff’s e-mail address is now jai@thehighersource.com.

The new street address to send all mail to is 2023 East Sims Way, #311, Port Townsend, WA 98368 The new phone number is (360) 379-2583.
