AFL-CIO organizing retirees for new PAC

The AFL-CIO recently announced a plan to make additional efforts to increase it’s political clout in Washington.

The umbrella group of organized labor will begin enlisting union retirees and form a new political organization called the Alliance for Retired Americans.

The AFL-CIO is doing this in hopes of acquiring new members, since its numbers were on the decline last year. The new organization would account for 2.5 million union retirees, maximizing the group’s participation in the political process.
