Local firm wins Kitsap Transit ad contract

Kitsap Transit recently awarded a five-year transit advertising contract to Sungrafx, Inc., of Bremerton. The contract was previously held by Oregon-based Obie Media.

The local firm, in business here since 1993, offers graphic design, advertising and web development services. Formerly known as Sunshine Graphics, the company is owned and operated by Brian and Victoria Koningisor.

According to Brian Koningisor, plans call for the launch of a new company called Trans Ad to handle the contact. He says the company’s goal is to rent 100 percent of its transit advertising space by making it affordable for local businesses as well as by soliciting national agencies. Trans Ad plans to accomplish this through lower rates, lower art and production costs, shorter terms and special programs.

Advertising sales began last month and are being headed up by Dain Nysoe, former marketing director and administration services supervisor for the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and Pavilion. In that position, he was also responsible for advertising sales at the Pavilion and Fairgrounds.
