Auditions for Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) production of The Snow Queen, a new adaptation by Steven Fogell, will be held 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 25 and 27, at The Playhouse.
Eleven men and twelve women for characters ages 9 and older are needed. Those auditioning should prepare a 2-minute comedic or dramatic monologue. Head shots and resumes are optional but appreciated. Puppets will also be used in this production.
Based on the tale by Hans Christian Andersen, the story follows a young couple, Kay and Gerda, as they journey to the icy world of the legendary Snow Queen. Along the way they encounter magical characters including a talking raven, an enchantress, a prince and princess, the beggar maiden, two old sisters of the Frozen Lands, and a talking reindeer. The story carries the message of family, true love, and destiny to the very end.
