Cosmo’s Deli in Port Orchard, which bills itself as the only local authentic delicatessen and specialty food market and restaurant in Kitsap County, has announced a pair of events.

The establishment will sponsor a Fall Harvest Dinner in October as well as a Beaujolais Nouveau Dinner in November.

“Our monthly wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres events have been very successful,” said co-owner Shelly Lewis. “Many of our customers are asking dinner events, so for this fall we’ve developed a couple of course dinners with wines.”

Cosmo’s will be one of only a handful of local restaurants to offer the Beaujolais Nouveau dinner, which is the customary first tasting of the year’s wine from the Beaujolais region of France.

“We will be serving 6 courses for the Harvest Dinner,” says Lewis, “and each course will be paired with an appropriate wine. We have a beautiful menu, including appetizers and dessert, and the wines will be chosen to complement to the meal.”

The Harvest Dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, October 28. Due to the limited seating capacity the dinner will be limited to one seating of 16 people. Tickets are $67.50 per person.

The Beaujolais Nouveau dinner will be held on Sunday, November 18, although the menu has not been finalized.

“It’s interesting how they fly the wine to all corners of the earth on the same day, and by French law the wine cannot be distributed to retail and restaurant outlets before November 15.” noted Lewis.
