Featured at the Verksted Gallery in Poulsbo during the month of September will be Susan Hornseth, a sterling silver jewelry artist, Lois Ashley, an artist who creates wearable art using polymer clay combined with an ancient glassmakers technique, and Pam Sanders, an award winning painter.
Abstract paintings in acrylic and collage which set the mood through color, texture and form are Sanders trademark. Her unique work has won awards throughout the state, and even flows into fun and beautiful wearable art pins made from such things as recycled paper and egg shells.
Hornseth has been creating beautiful sterling silver jewelry for over 10 years. Her pieces are crafted with precision and careful attention to long lasting quality as well as beauty. Many of her one of a kind creations incorporate the hand blown glass beads of a fellow Verksted artist, making these one of a kind pieces both high quality works of art, and very popular Verksted design pieces.
Ashley creates quality, not quantity, in her wearable art jewelry. Her handmade beads are done with polymer clay, fired at low temperature, with special emphasis placed on the color combinations and the intricate patterns created by a special caning process. Sold individually, each bead is a wonderful mini sculpture. Her beads incorporated into necklaces and pins are dazzling works of art!
The Verksted is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day. |
