United Way kicks off annual campaign

The United Way of Kitsap County will kick off its annual fundraising campaign at a luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 6.

Ken Schram of KOMO 4 News will be guest speaker at the luncheon. Schram has been a reporter, special projects manager, editorial director and “Town Meeting” host in his 24 years at KOMO.

The organization hopes to raise $1.6 million during this year’s campaign, a 5.6 percent increase over what was raised last year. Funds raised support a wide range of health and human services, including child and elder care, help for homeless and struggling families, health care and other community services.
