Bainbridge Performing Arts will present RavenWood: The Tree of Dreams and Bones of a Dragon, which are Chapters One and Two of the RavenWood trilogy. The production will be staged by the 4th-8th grade Theatre School students at The Playhouse on Friday, July 13 and 27.
RavenWood weaves a magical tale encompassing 150 years of unbearable good and enchanting evil, complete with Sorcerers magic, a Queen of light, an evil dark King, a runaway child, a war of talking spirits, a magic book, and a tree that gave life to them all.
The story commenced with The Tree of Dreams. After the cracking of the Tree of Dreams, Forna, the Queen of light is forced to create an enchanted world called Azria. Simultaneously, the evil sorcerer Meek is born into the shadows and develops a dark world called Maug. Through the Tree of Dreams, these two worlds collide, launching a war that lasts two lifetimes.
In Bones of a Dragon, it is now 20 years later. Things have changed; the war between Azria and Maug has become a way of life for many. This is the era of new enchantment and a new sorcerers plan. Forna has only one chance to overcome the evil Meek. Her plan must work or Azria will be destroyed forever.
Two performances of each will take place on July 13 and July 27 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets for each performance are $6 for students, seniors and adults. They are available at The Playhouse 200 Madison Ave. N., or may be charged by phone at (206) 842-8569. BPA Box Office hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. |
