Half a dozen registered nurses from Bremerton’s Harrison Memorial Hospital are finalists for the prestigious NurseWeek awards. The six were selected from 17 Harrison nurses nominated for the awards, which recognize nursing excellence.

Nominated were Betty Dunaway (patient advocacy), Cheryl Graf (community service), Louann Bean (leadership), Carol Butcher (mentoring), Lois Hoell (mentoring), and Donna Luscezynski (teaching).

On Aug. 11, one winner will be chosen in each of eight categories, which also include innovation and advancing the profession. Each nominee will enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas for the awards ceremony and dinner.
