Joint venture company completes
two local telecom projects

NW Commnet, a joint venture of Convergence Technologies of Bremerton and Silverdale’s Telebyte NW, recently completed two local telecommunications projects.

When Advanced Medical Imaging (AMI) opened a new office in Silverdale adjacent to the new Silverdale Harrison Hospital, a complete new communications system was needed. Convergence Technologies engineered, procured and installed the telephone system, and NW Commnet provided fixed wireless connections to connect the three Bremerton AMI locations and the Silverdale AMI location to a Wide Area Network (WAN).

By designing and installing a system that takes advantage of existing circuits and which expanded capacity through a hybrid fixed wireless and wired network, high-speed connectivity was achieved between the four AMI locations.

Also, NW Commnet and Convergence Technologies was engaged by American Financial Solutions (AFS) to install cable infrastructure and perform telecommunications design for its new call center in the former Montgomery Ward’s store on Fourth Street in downtown Bremerton. NW Commnet is also providing fixed wireless high speed internet access to the company. AFS recently commenced operations with an initial staff of twelve. Employment at the call center is expected to reach 100.
