Bainbridge Gardens Nursery owners Junkoh and Christina Harui recently announced a new partnership with noted author Ann Lovejoy. A local landmark and community center, the historic nursery has been featured on HGTV and in numerous magazine and news articles.
Lovejoy ranks among the countrys leading garden experts and has also been featured on HGTV, National Public Radio, and National Public Television. She has written more than 18 gardening books, including Ann Lovejoys Organic Design School, The Sage Garden, Gardening From Scratch, and her best-selling regional classic, The Year In Bloom. She is a regular garden and organic food columnist for the Seattle Post Intelligencer and contributes to many regional and national publications.
Recognized throughout the Northwest for innovative garden classes, she will introduce new directions in marketing strategy and direct a new educational program for the nursery.
Lovejoys public volunteer gardening project, Town In Bloom, which turns neglected public spaces into thriving gardens entirely maintained by volunteers, has been sponsored since its inception by Bainbridge Gardens. The program has become a model for projects in other communities and recently won a national award for the Bainbridge Island Public Library, where the Friday Tidy team of volunteers maintains over an acre of public gardens. |
