Is it the frame or the glass or maybe the reflection itself that makes the mirror? In the group show Mirror, Mirror on the Wall presented by Bainbridge Arts and Crafts, 15 Northwest artists ask and answer that question.
In Sally Rooneys eyes, mirrors reflect time passing, and so do her whimsical and colorful frames. Fleeting reflections peer around and through permanent images etched into the glass of Patty Rogers mirrors. Like outdoor reflection pools, mirrors are shimmering highlights in George Lewis and David Littles nature scenes of color- washed concrete.
From ceramics to fine woods, many media are represented by fine crafts persons. Cynthia Dice, Michele Van Slyke, and Carol Fiedler Kawaguchi from Bainbridge Island will display work along with other regional artists Morgan Brig, Solia Hermes, Shane Miller, Chris Giffen, Colleen Barry, David Selditz, Caitlin Dundon, and Kay ORourke, and, from the east coast, Walter Fogg.
