Verksted featuring Blair and Whipple in March

Beautiful stained glass works along with the exquisite and unusual art of Woven and Marquetry wheat will be featured at Poulsbo’s Verksted Gallery during the month of March.

Ken Blair is known in this area as a “master craftsman” in the art of stained glass. His works range from delicate window hangings to elegant custom designs which he installs in many Northwest homes. His work is figurative and uses images of the northwest such as herons, lighthouses, and beautiful floral works to create environments of light that encompass an area in jewel tones and shapes.

Jean Whipple was drawn toward wheat weaving perhaps because she was raised in southwest Chicago in a large Swedish community. A member of the national Association of Wheat Weavers, Whipple has been creating designs in wheat for over a decade. Her wall hangings are light in weight, but heavy in subject matter. Angels, beautiful crosses, circles, hearts, all woven with intricate designs and often decorated in homespun ribbons are a popular attraction at the gallery.
